N1XBM – Photos

This is a spin off of the Ghost Army from WW2 I just added my own spin to it. I also took the photo and put it into Solidworks and extruded it to print it 3D.

I made this Radioman cartoon myself it is a throwback to the old Garbage pail kids. I use it as a QSL card to exchange with other operators.

A logo Mr Magoo made for our weekly CB radio roll call. We meet every Thursday at 8PM on Ch 37 LSB. We host Live streams on Facebook and Youtube. I have also extruded this image in Solidworks to print 3D.

Maine CB a group of locals that enjoy local and DX CB radio. The placement of 27Mhz in the spectrum makes it a very reliable ground wave communication medium.

This is my south tower its a 50 foot tilt over tower I installed myself that I use a winch and pole to raise and lower. It has two KU dishes, a Meshtastic node up top, with a pan/tilt/zoom camera at the tower top. Also is a 4 element quad used for 11m/10M. I have a box at the bottom where cables come in underground. This tower also has lightning arrestors on all cables and grounding.

Just a second shot of the South tower, the pan/tilt/zoom also feeds my weather webpage so I can get a "sky view".

This North tower, why? Because its at the North end of my property. This tower I also installed myself it has a hazer which along with South Tower allows servicing of the antennas at ground level. This tower has an Imax 2000, Channel Master OTA bow tie TV antenna and a discone antenna for scanning. I employ channel Master 50Mhz high pass filters on the TV antenna and discone to keep the CB from bothering them. This tower also has underground cabling. This tower also has lightning arrestors on all feed lines and grounding.

This is my 260 foot center fed, 600 ohm open wire line dipole. The feed line is made from 4 inch electric fence post insulators. The dipole is feet up with the assitance of my Vevor tire bead blaster converted into an antenna launcher. This dipole gets my on 160m-10m.

Before the feedline enters my shack it is conencted to this lightning arrestors that is also bonded with all grounds on the property. You can also see my feedline as it heads out to the tower. The is a screen door spring that acts a strain relief.

My friend and neighbor from the CB loaned his tractor for digging the holes.

Hole is dug, square frame is built. For the tilt over tower a much bigger and deeper hole was dug. For the tower with the hazer I used a 55 gallon cardboard drump with the bottom cut out. They can be had for free locally.

Ready for concrete Kiwi our dog is doing supervision and watching over the job site.

Where the concrete needed to go I could not get a truck to it easily. It was actually quite affordable to rent this Toro Mud buggy for the day. It included the trailer about about 200 dollars. It will hold a yard of concrete and has a dump body.

This box brings in my cables from underground I have grounding, lightnight protection and terminations.
